About You: We are searching for an experienced, full-time Business Development Manager who will extend our reach in the DMV area through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. This person will be an ambassador for all things DIRTT—responsible for increasing DIRTT business by promoting the full DIRTT Solution, which includes walls, millwork, modular power and data, floors, and green walls, and closing sales. The Business Development Specialist will work closely with our architectural designers, project management, marketing department, and technology innovation department to prepare presentations and proposals, building brand awareness and increasing visibility in the marketplace.

  • Actively engage in business development activities throughout the local business and built industry community by attending a variety of events, being involved in professional groups and associations, and keeping abreast of new developments and shifts in the marketplace
  • Build annual (reviewed quarterly) strategic sales plan for the key clients
  • Identify the growth potential for each key account based on product lines and proposed projects
  • Lead showroom tours at our Rockville, MD and Washington DC showrooms and act as the go-to DIRTT presenter, familiar with all sales tools and education methods
  • Become an expert in ICE (DIRTT’s building information modelling software) and using it to share DIRTT’s power with clients and partners
  • Utilize and maintain CRM database, industry contacts and relationships to generate project leads and all business development activities
  • Manage existing accounts to ensure client satisfaction and on-going business relationships
  • Work as a team with manufacturer’s representatives, harnessing each other’s talents to grow the overall DIRTT business in the market
  • Become integral to the Intellistruct team, working with principals, designers, project managers, and coordinators on multiple projects
  • Monitor progress of projects from start to finish, including attending construction meetings, to ensure complete client satisfaction and identify opportunities and challenges in advance

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 Years Sales Experience, within construction field preferred
  • Background in design, architecture, or construction, preferably with a degree in one of these fields
  • Experience selling architectural products and/or related services a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proven ability to interact with general contractors and project managers
  • High sense of urgency and ability to execute tasks efficiently and calmly
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial nature—a problem solver, quick thinker, and multitasker
  • An aptitude for technology and willingness to learn
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Previous knowledge of DIRTT’s solutions, including its layers and how they work together, as well as an understanding of how DIRTT is installed, would be a plus
  • Knowledge of the Architecture and Construction process preferred
  • Knowledge of integrated technology systems (ex: video teleconferencing, digital signage, space management, etc.) preferred
  • Able to read and understand floor plans and other related technical drawings
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources within a given team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening skills both in person and via telephone
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRMs
