Reports To: Director of Finance and Operations

Job Summary: The Production Manager will oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. The role involves planning, managing, and optimizing the day-to-day operations to achieve the company's production targets efficiently and within budget. The Production Manager ensures that production is cost-effective, that products are produced on time, and that they meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet production targets.
    • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
    • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., supply chain, quality control) to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Operations Management:
    • Manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Oversee the maintenance of production equipment and machinery.
    • Ensure that production processes comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
  3. Team Management:
    • Supervise, train, and mentor production staff, including operators, technicians, and supervisors.
    • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback and coaching.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  4. Quality Control:
    • Implement quality control measures and monitor production quality.
    • Address and resolve any production issues or defects promptly.
    • Ensure that products meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  5. Cost Management:
    • Manage production budgets and control costs.
    • Optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.
    • Identify opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.

 

 

 

  1. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
    • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in production processes.
  2. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate production records and prepare regular reports on production performance.
    • Analyze production data and generate insights for decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field. Candidates may be considered who have equivalent, significant experience
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and process optimization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to balance empathy/EI with motivating high performance
  • Proficiency in production management software, ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves working in a manufacturing plant or factory setting.
  • The role requires significant standing and walking time, on the floor managing people and processes
  • Some domestic travel is required
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
