The Logistics Manager executes the Corona Clipper, Inc logistics strategy by providing continuity, insight, best practices and critical feedback to project team(s) responsible for the movement of products. To be successful in this position you must have a strong international freight and customs compliance background. This position report to the Sr. Logistics Manager – North America.

This position will work out of our Louisville, KY DC.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with Purchasing teams, Suppliers, Customs Brokers, and carriers to ensure all shipments are captured, tracked, cleared, and delivered
  • Creation of freight claims processing and resolutions for domestic freight shipments
  • Support on customer returns related to OS&D for claims process
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer service, procurement, accounting, or shipping.
  • Evaluate improvements of existing procedures and working environments to advance the service level to the customer and profitability of the organization.
  • Create, establish and document operational procedures and processes.
  • Maintain KPIs for international ocean, air, and cross border freight such as average cost and transit times by lane.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, or customer issues.
  • Analyze international and domestic logistic offerings to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
  • Monitor product import/export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Assist with inventory tracking of international freight.
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes for international and domestic freight routing, equipment, and frequency.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Manage and improve freight forwarder and 3PL carrier service levels.
  • Maintain US Customs record keeping compliance for international and cross border shipments.
  • Manage and implement programs to move international freight via the most efficient and cost-effective methods.
  • Ensure outbound domestic shipments follow customer routing requirements.
  • Drive and maintain relationships with carriers (Drayage, 3PLs, Freight Forwarders, and Brokers) through effective communication and contract negotiations that support cost effectiveness and the company’s competitive advantage.
  • Manage inter-company freight shipments.
  • Develop and perform transportation analysis to illustrate transportation metrics/performance, support vendor or carrier negotiations (International, Domestic, and Cross Border), develop pricing and optimization of network.
  • Communicate daily ocean freight movement with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage expediting of incoming and outbound freight
  • Develop international freight consolidation program.
  • Work closely with Foreign Operations team to expedite international shipments and manage the booking process.
  • Inform all related business units of changes associated with third party logistics providers and changes in freight rates.
  • Should be an agent for change management.
  • Operates within budget.
  • Collaboration and support of various supply chain initiatives.
  • Oversight and process management of internal/external resources.
  • Other duties and project support as deemed necessary.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Operations, Transportation Management or Logistics preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain System, Logistics or Operations Management.
  • An analytical, problem-solving personality with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with vendors.
  • Extensive knowledge of Ocean Freight and Import/Export processes.
  • Experience with cross border operations from Mexico and Canada
  • Strong U.S. Customs knowledge, including HTS classifications
  • Strong data analytical skills using Power BI and Excel.
  • Experience and knowledge of domestic freight process.
  • Strong working knowledge of logistics and general Supply Chain processes.
  • Extensive experience with complex Supply Chain or Logistics projects is essential.
  • Attention to details and ability to ensure accurate work
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience interacting with/supporting customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
