The Revenue Manager will provide guidance and leadership with regard to GAAP compliance, revenue recognition, optimizing customer deal financials and collections. We're looking for someone with strong business partnering skills, an adept communicator and enjoys collaborating with a talented and diverse workforce. This role will have frequent interactions with sales, business operations, supply chain and finance. This is a highly visible role in the company, and a key leader in the finance and accounting team. This person will be responsible for ensuring the order-to-cash process is responsive, compliant and thorough. Particle sells hardware, SaaS-based subscriptions and professional services and complies with ASC 606.

You will:

  • Manage Particle's revenue recognition function and grow the OTC team over time
  • Lead the revenue recognition process to book revenue on a monthly basis
  • Review and document closed deals using the 606 checklist
  • Provide technical revenue and deal structuring advice to the business by participating in the Deals Desk process and customer contract negotiations
  • Own audit compliance for the order-to-cash process. This will include direct interactions with auditors, fulfilling PBCs and assisting on private company disclosures
  • Oversee customer collections
  • Establish appropriate processes and controls for the order-to-cash cycle

You have:

  • Technical ASC 606 revenue recognition expertise, specifically at technology firms with SaaS, hardware and professional service performance obligations
  • Led monthly revenue operations from revenue determination through booking
  • Private company experience under audit
  • Proficient in NetSuite and Salesforce; very strong in Excel (comfortable with complex formulas)
  • Roll-up-your-sleeves leader who can set direction as well as execute
  • Thrives in a startup environment, solves problems and enjoys coaching employees
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 8+ Years of accounting experience, including 6 or more years in revenue recognition
  • CPA is a plus
