Job DescriptionJob Description

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Reviews referrals for completeness and follows up for additional information if necessary
  • Enters referrals, documents communications and actions in system and spreadsheets
  • Coordinate large volume of referrals that come in from various sources
  • Communicates with Scheduling team and other departments to update referral request
  • Create and update spreadsheets to track data
  • Gather data and report on trends
  • Contact patients if there is an insurance issue and the ability to educate patients and staff
  • Interactions with physician for updates
  • Coordinate with Clinical team to referral status
  • Create partnership with referring practices and become a point of contact for SMASA
  • Schedule and cancel appointments
  • Contact insurance companies to obtain authorizations for new and established patients
  • Travel and visit referring provider

EDUCATION:

Education: High School diploma or GED required


EXPERIENCE: 2+ years working patient referrals and/or insurance. 2+ year's experience in a medical practice.

ABILITIES: Must demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills. Excellent planning, organization and managements skills. Ability to multi-task, works in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrates team cooperation.

Job Type: Full-time - Monday through Friday. Dependable transportation required. Travel between locations may be required.
