The Family Programs Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, implementing, and evaluating all Drop-In Member Child Care services and family programs at the Y. This role requires direct service, collaboration with the Assistant Director, and a focus on meeting community needs while building strong relationships with families, staff, and participants.

SCHEDULE:
This is an hourly, year-round position with a weekly commitment of at least twenty-five to twenty-nine (25-29) hours with the opportunity to work more hours as programs are created and grow. This role follows a Saturday through Wednesday schedule completing administrative duties and working in direct service in membership child care and family programs as needed. Schedule to be determined in collaboration with Director of Youth and Family Programs and Assistant Director of Family Programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administrative Duties:
  • Meet weekly with the Assistant Director of Family Programs to collaborate on program offerings and improve current programming.
  • Meet strategic plan goals to address community needs.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Director of Family Programs to create and manage schedules to appropriately fill shifts on a day-to-day basis, ensuring staffing needs are aligned with the budget.
  • Creating MMC standard operating procedures and ensuring understanding with staff.
  • Create and manage the schedule for member childcare.
  • Manage member transactions for payment, transfers, or credits.
  • Create MMC sign-up systems using Daxko.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program Management:
  • Develop, manage, implement, and evaluate all Member Child Care services.
  • Work directly in Member Child Care and family programs as directed by the Assistant Director of Family Programs.
  • Ensure all programs are running smoothly, assuming responsibilities for staff, administrative tasks, and family communication when necessary.
  • Manage inventory and supply needs, purchasing as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement Saturday birthday parties.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for all programming.
  • Develop, manage, and implement systems and processes to support reservation management, parent/child information, and sign-in/out procedures.
  • Perform all opening/closing tasks according to procedure, as necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and participation of programs.
  • Build relationships with families, staff, and participants through empathy, emotion management, and personal development.
  • Assist with member feedback and communication in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Family Programs.
  • Demonstrate and support the Y core values of Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility in interactions with the public, staff, members, and children.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and lead by role modeling core values to members.
Staff Management:
  • Recruit, hire, and train Member Child Care Associates.
  • Supervise and manage Member Child Care Associates.
  • Ensure that member childcare is fully staffed with trained staff in compliance with Y policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are always followed and delivered with excellent customer service.
  • Support new employee onboarding and training for Member Child Care Associates in Daxko Operations, Group ExPro, Zoom Shift, and general systems and protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience in program development and management, preferably in a child care or family program setting.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and participants.
  • Commitment to the Y's core values of Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility.
