Position Summary: The Senior Category Analyst will be responsible for providing advanced data analysis, market insights, and strategic guidance to drive category growth and enhance our competitive position for both CON-CRET Sports Nutrition and pH-D Feminine Health. This role requires a strong analytical thinker with a deep understanding of the CPG industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid position. You must be local to the Nashville area.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to identify key drivers and opportunities for growth.
  • Lead the analysis of complex data sets to identify patterns and trends, making data-driven recommendations for category development.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on category performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives for senior management.

Strategic Market Research:

  • Develop data strategy and budget to ensure we have access to appropriate channels and information.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and market dynamics to inform category strategies and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Provide insights on market segmentation, product positioning, and target audience to support strategic planning.

Category Strategy and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to develop and execute comprehensive category strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Provide expert recommendations on product assortment, pricing, promotional activities, and merchandising strategies.
  • Support Sales with data & insights PPT slides to help build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners. Support the Sales team to negotiate category placement, promotional support, and shelf space.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in category management, data analysis, market research, or a related role in the CPG industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools utilizing scanner data (Nielsen) and company financials (NetSuite).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex data analysis projects and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • A team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Sports Nutrition and/or Personal Care categories.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and e-commerce strategies.
  • MBA degree.
