We are currently hiring for a dedicated and organized Simulation Operations Manager. The Simulation Operations Manager will provide oversight of the Simulation and Learning Lab Techs while supporting all simulation and learning lab activities, including operation and troubleshooting of simulation and audio-visual equipment. This full-time position is located on our Draper, UT campus.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Joyce University.
  • Management of the day-to-day operations of the simulation and learning labs, ensuring the highest quality student, facilitator, and faculty experience.
  • Oversight, operation, and troubleshooting ability of all multimedia systems, including simulators, task trainers, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Simulation and Learning Labs to develop a daily schedule of operations, understanding set-up needs per curriculum, room scheduling, and appropriate staffing model to fulfill needs.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain documentation for initial and ongoing training to the Simulation and Learning Lab Techs.
  • Provides daily oversight with preparation and set up of nursing skills and simulation labs accurately, timely and meeting highly-immersive standards, including equipment, manikin(s), moulage, manikin programming, audio/video functions for debrief and master control rooms and ensure the medication dispensing system is stocked for the correct client.
  • Ensure quality in day-to-day activities are being delivered, supporting Simulation Education Specialists and managing the Simulation and Learning Lab Techs.
  • Works closely with the Simulation and Learning Lab Technology Specialist, to schedule timely vendor training, annual maintenance, and repairs of all equipment, and organizing loaner simulators or equipment.
  • Provides technical assistance and support to faculty and students in the use of simulation and skills lab equipment, as necessary, including the medical supply room and computer-based media.
  • Assists with restocking and turnover between scenarios, and any details needed by simulation facilitators.
  • Manages the clean-up and reset of simulation, skills labs, and debrief rooms including restocking of supplies, task trainers, open/make up lab cart, medication carts, cleaning moulage from manikin(s), cleaning and rinsing all internal components, changing of linen, when needed, and wipe-down all surfaces.
  • Controls the supply and equipment inventory, ensuring materials and equipment are received, updated, and are in good working condition, using the electronic inventory control system.
  • Schedules, lead, and track attendance of Simulation and Learning Lab Techs meetings, one-on-one meetings, trainings, and other required staff activities.
  • Manages projects, either assigned or created, holding others assigned accountable to meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Show a high degree of professionalism in communication and collaborating with team members and members of other departments, clients, regular communication, following dress code, completing compliance trainings on time, and punctuality.
  • Works alongside the Assistant Director of Simulation and Learning Labs, providing clarity around staff timecard approvals and PTO requests, staff issues, and work environment complaints from staff, students, or Simulation Education Specialists.
  • Contributes to process improvement planning and implementation to enhance student learning and promote excellence in simulation and learning lab experiences.
  • Other general duties and functions as assigned.
Requirements:

WHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED:

  • Required Education: Associates Degree or higher in healthcare or technology-related field
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Experience: 1+ years experience in healthcare, healthcare simulation, or technology-related field
