The Manager oversees the daily operations of the assisted living facility, ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of residents while maintaining compliance with state standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Qualified by training and experience, capable of making mature judgments.
  • No physical or mental disabilities or personality disturbances that interfere with responsibilities.
  • For small facilities: proof of high school graduation or equivalent certification.
  • For large facilities:
  • Associate degree in nursing, health care management, or related field; or
  • Bachelor's degree; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent certification and at least one year of management or health care industry management experience.
  • Heartfelt desire to meet the social, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents.
  • Completion of at least one educational course on assisted living facility management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of the facility.
  • Interface daily with residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Communicate with families, doctors, home-health care, and other agencies or individuals in contact with residents.
  • Hire, train, and supervise all staff members.
  • Ensure implementation and update of state standards and facility procedures.
  • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of all residents.
  • Handle all questions and complaints concerning the facility.
  • Interview prospective residents and provide information to them and their families.
  • Coordinate with medical teams and service providers.
  • Manage medication administration, budget oversight, and ordering supplies and groceries.
  • Conduct team meetings, review activities, and provide positive encouragement to staff.
  • Attend weekly manager meetings and maintain ongoing communication with team members,
  • community partners, and families.
  • Provide on-call phone services and emergency assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility.

Physical Requirements

  • Stamina to handle the demands of a fast-paced environment.
  • Manual dexterity for administrative tasks and coordination with staff.
  • Availability for on-call duties 24/7.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
