Job Description

The Visa VAS Issuer Solutions team is seeking a Sales Engineering Director with extensive proven technical acumen in an Issuer Processing environment.  A successful candidate must be a strategic and critical thinker with an exemplary record of client facing interactions.  The VAS Sales Engineering Director will play a critical role in Visa Issuer Processing sales and retention, and must be able to connect emerging market trends with Visa Issuing Solutions products, solutions and competitive analytics data to provide direction and positioning to support a Visa Issuer Processing win. 

This position act as liaison between sales and product teams to ensure the voice of the customer and market trends are communicated to affect roadmap development and prioritization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the solutioning efforts for all Visa VAS Issuer Solutions – Issuer Processing prospects and existing Issuer Processing clients.
  • Deep understanding of technical integration points for an Issuer Processor and Issuing client with their third party vendors – including core, online banking, mobile banking, and instant issuance vendors.
  • Identify and document nuances with the many variations that are possible with Issuer Processing configurations, and speak intelligently/consultatively on this subject with clients/prospects the during and after sales engagements.
  • Maintains a deep knowledge of all Visa Issuer Solutions products and services focusing primarily on DPS core services and Value Added Services.
  • Support on-site and virtual sales pitches and client renewals through leading presentations as well as demonstrations of Visa tools.
  • Prepare content and help showcase Visa value through Value Based Selling techniques and artifacts.
  • Consultation sessions with prospects and existing clients (i.e. integration, ISO messages, APIs, Digital issuance).
  • Deliver product and competitor information to drive and support product development and innovation strategies.
  • Collaboration with product teams to convey voice of the customer for influencing roadmap for any market gaps.
  • Collaboration with sales teams to educate and inform team for ongoing evolution and enhancements for Issuer Solutions products and services.
  • Participate in RFP efforts associated with Issuer Processing services.
  • RFPIO tool: help optimize content to improve productivity and create efficiencies in the RFP process.
  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization.
  • Actively lead various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)
  • Experience with related sales, product and management experience in the payments industry.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and/or relationship management.
  • Experience with FI relationships, analysis, finance, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage & grow internal and external resources and cross functional relationships.
  • Ability to communicate and manage relationships with all levels of the client's organization.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement.
  • Ability to travel as needed to ensure adequate on-site interaction with the client.
  • Exceptional customer service and advocacy experience and mindset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Additional information

Work Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.
Work Location: This position and its incumbent can be hired for any of the Visa offices or can be a Telecommuter


Travel: Incumbent must be able to travel up to 25%

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 176,500 to 251,150 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
