Summary
The Communications Manager is responsible for executing a strategic communications plan that keeps employees informed and engaged while also bolstering relationships with customers, industry leaders, and associations. This role demands close collaboration with various organizational leaders to ensure coherent integration of messages across multiple platforms.
The Communications Manager reports to the V.P. of Marketing and Communications, playing a crucial role in developing internal and external communication strategies to elevate awareness of 48forty's initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Content Creation and Management: Spearhead the development and oversight of diverse content forms to ensure consistent and engaging communications. This includes:
- Employee and quarterly business newsletters.
- HubSpot corporate emails and promotional campaigns.
- Regular blog maintenance.
- Emergency communications through AlertMedia.
- Management of corporate SharePoint content.
- Collaboration on Initiatives: Work closely with department leaders to create, deploy, and socialize various initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement across the organization.
- Communications Calendar Management: Responsible for maintaining a comprehensive communications calendar to ensure timely and organized execution of all communication-related activities and initiatives.
- Review and Oversight: Conduct thorough reviews and offer critical feedback on key internal and external communications to ensure clarity and impact.
- Collaboration and Strategy Implementation: Align communication efforts with the company's strategic goals, collaborating closely with the V.P. of Marketing and Communications.
- Brand Consistency: Guarantee that all communication materials accurately reflect the 48forty brand across various platforms.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with leaders across the organization to enhance the integration of communications.
Experience and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field is preferred.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Superior writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Professional Expertise: Deep understanding of optimal practices for business communications and social media.
- Crisis Management: Ability to manage and strategize during crises.
- Interdepartmental Engagement: Skilled at collaborating across various departments.
- Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, and transportation preferred.
