Position Overview: The Digital Print Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production and quality standards on the digital print machines.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains production and quality standards on the digital print machines.
  • Performs certified preventative maintenance, adjustments, and repairs to the press as needed; contacts maintenance staff when appropriate.
  • Troubleshoots and attempts to correct equipment problems and errors using certification training knowledge and reference materials; elevates to management as needed.
  • Reviews and checks pertinent specifications and information on the machine’s diagnostic screen to determine proper operation.
  • Scans out completed jobs (that require scanning) to keep systems updated.
  • Performs quality checks on printed files, images, and documents to check size, font, and text with special emphasis on strict quality control and accuracy.
  • Sets up equipment to ensure documents are processed correctly.
  • Resolves equipment errors by determining and implementing proper resolution based on reference material.
  • Documents maintenance and job activities in log.
  • Operates multiple digital printers simultaneously.
  • Cross trains on all press variation for vacation coverage – Xerox, Prisma, and Oce roll feed presses.
  • Communicates pertinent information to co-workers, internal contacts, and management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of clients’ proprietary information.
  • Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
  • Orders consumables and stock for jobs and keeps track of inventory.
  • Acquires and adopts new information in a changing technical environment.
  • Miscellaneous duties to help team achieve its goals.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Intermediate PC skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word preferred).
  • Experience performing maintenance on machinery and/or equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours each day.
  • Periodic physical activity requires walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stooping.
