Shift: 1st shift hours: 6:50 am - 3:00 pm - overtime would start in the morning at 5:00 am
2nd shift hours: 2:50 pm - 11:00 pm - overtime would run until 1:00 am
Wage: $26.00 hr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the printing press effectively.
  • Adhere to all facility regulations, safety protocols, and maintain cleanliness through 5S practices. Understand and implement all Quality One Point Lessons.
  • Collect and evaluate random samples during print operations to make necessary adjustments.
  • Review proofs for ink coverage, density, alignment, and registration accuracy.
  • Analyze job orders to determine print quantities, stock specifications, color requirements, and special instructions. Complete necessary documentation accurately, including the Green Quality Checklist and Production Report Form.
  • Supervise and guide the work of the Press Feeder Operator and Press Room Utility Operator.
  • Provide assistance in other areas as required, including troubleshooting feeder issues.
  • Change press plates or blankets as needed.
  • Prepare or mix inks, fill ink fountains, and adjust flow rates. Clean ink fountains, plates, or printing unit cylinders after press runs.
  • Monitor automated Heidelberg press operation systems and respond appropriately.
  • Perform Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL) tasks and collaborate with Maintenance or contracted technicians for press repairs or troubleshooting.
  • Be fully trained as a Feeder Operator.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Press Operator is essential.
  • Ability to accurately count and memorize counts in distracting environments. Proficient in basic math operations and capable of reading and understanding all job-related forms and paperwork.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and similar structures using hands and feet. Must be able to bend and utilize upper extremities while maintaining balance on narrow or slippery surfaces.
  • Capability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
  • Willingness to work in proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and exposure to high heat or chemicals.
