We are thrilled to invite a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our team as an Access Control Estimator / Business Development Specialist. This pivotal role entails spearheading the business development and estimating functions for Division 28 Access Control products, including sophisticated access control systems, cameras, and low voltage solutions. The Estimator will play a crucial role in our strategic initiatives by engaging in on-site meetings with clients, visiting job sites, and reaching out to both existing and prospective customers to expand our portfolio. This position requires seamless collaboration with in-house departments, customers, and vendors to initiate project takeoffs and prepare comprehensive quotes. Mission

Our mission for this role is to cultivate and sustain robust external relationships with customers while driving CMF revenue and gross profit goals to new heights.


Outcomes

  1. Successfully complete the Internal Access Control Training program within 21 days.
  2. Fulfill vendor training requirements within 180 days.
  3. Secure $1.0MM in new projects within the first 180 days.
  4. Achieve $3.0MM in new projects within the first 360 days.
  5. Consistently attain an annual revenue goal of $4.0MM in subsequent years.

Position Reports to: Estimating Leader, Commercial/Multifamily Division


Responsibilities

Forge strong partnerships with vendors and the purchasing team to secure the most competitive pricing.

  • Meticulously review architectural drawings and specifications, focusing on Access Control systems.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of building codes, life safety, and accessibility standards in the estimation process.
  • Execute takeoffs with precision, employing a systematic and detail-oriented approach.
  • Craft compelling proposals and present innovative value engineering solutions to our customers.
  • Maintain direct and effective communication with customers through phone, email, and on-site visits.
  • Adhere to bid date schedules and deadlines with unwavering commitment.
  • Engage in proactive follow-ups, negotiations, and successful closure of bid projects.
  • Develop and nurture long-term customer relationships to unlock growth opportunities.
  • Call on developers, contractors, and property management teams. Present our value proposition, convert existing properties, and solidify our position on new projects.


Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
  • Profound knowledge of access control systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with the integration of access control systems with other security solutions is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in project estimating and a thorough understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior communication skills with a strong emphasis on timely follow-up.
  • A deep commitment to high customer service standards and relationship-building.
  • Unwavering integrity, passion, and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF reader/editor software is required.
