Position Overview

Role: Machining Estimator / Service Writer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Machining Estimator / Service Writer to take on a Direct Hire opportunity. The successful candidate will work within a structured schedule, with the possibility of overtime and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate incoming machinery and components to assess the necessary repairs and replacements.
  2. Source and determine pricing for replacement components.
  3. Prepare comprehensive quotes and estimates for clients, including detailed Job Tickets for assigned shop tasks.
  4. Develop Troubleshooting Analysis Reports alongside Repair Quotes.
  5. Notify the Operations Manager and relevant stakeholders of any material defects, rework requirements, inspection oversights, or job delays.
  6. Ensure all inspection documentation is thorough and accurate.
  7. Regularly update the Job Status Report within the ERP System and maintain communication regarding deliverables and project statuses.
  8. Exhibit professionalism and maintain a respectful demeanor throughout daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in the Machining Repair and Service sector.
  • Prior experience in Estimating or Service Writing roles.
  • Proficient in interpreting complex technical drawings and utilizing precision measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Extensive knowledge in diagnostic, troubleshooting, and failure analysis methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification or an associate degree in a Mechanical-related field.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 is advantageous.

Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card holders.
