Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHumCap’s client, a growing SaaS company in Dallas, is seeking a Product Manager. The Product Manager will play a crucial role in defining and guiding the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agile methodologies and scrum practices, complemented by a working knowledge of hardware and software applications. While primarily focused on product ownership, the candidate should also have project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, including Product Management, Sales, Support, and Professional Services daily.
This role involves engaging with stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products. The Product Manager will work collaboratively to scope and document customer engagement solutions, refine the product strategy, and will be responsible for facilitating agile ceremonies and driving the agile/scrum process within the team. Additionally, this role requires the ability to present confidently to clients and prospects, manage project timelines, and deliver projects on-time and on-budget. The Product Manager will also assist with quality assurance (QA) to ensure the product meets the highest standards of quality.

Typical Daily Functions Include
  • Acting as a Scrum Master to ensure agile/scrum processes are followed
  • Conducting daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions
  • Facilitating sprint reviews and retrospectives
  • Managing product backlog and ensuring it aligns with the product roadmap and strategic goals
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and define product requirements
  • Prioritizing and refining product backlog items
  • Ensuring the development team understands the product vision and requirements
  • Making strategic decisions to optimize product delivery
  • Monitoring and reporting on product progress and performance
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis to inform product strategy
  • Engaging with customers to gather feedback and insights

Primary Responsibilities
  • Own the execution of the vision and strategy for the product and oversee its development.
  • Own the agile/scrum process and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and manage the product backlog.
  • Determine how the product can best meet customer needs and wants.
  • Perform user acceptance testing to ensure a high-quality user experience and alignment of deliverables with requirements and customer needs.
  • Articulate the product vision to the development team and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs and pain points.
  • Create a roadmap with a timeline for developing and launching the product and milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to build the product.
  • Ensure the quality of the product meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for new product features and enhancements.
  • Conduct customer research to gather feedback on product performance.
  • Coordinate with marketing to create product demand and drive sales growth.
  • Analyze data and feedback to determine if the product is meeting its goals.
  • Make adjustments to the product or overall strategy as needed.

Education & Experience
  • BS Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field preferred.
  • 2-5 years related experience at a SaaS company in Product Ownership
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Networking, Security, and Cloud (AWS) solutions.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and scrum practices.
  • Experience in conducting sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize product backlogs.
  • Ability to create detailed product documentation and specifications.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and lifecycle.
  • Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
  • Ability to collaborate with design teams to create intuitive user experiences.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Understanding of APIs and integration methods.
  • Baseline knowledge of operating systems such as Chrome, iOS, and Android.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Azure DevOps, Figma, Visio, and graphic/analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of Audio/Video distribution, digital signage, and streaming media including file formats, codecs, video resolutions, encoding standards, and audio/video software.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
