SUMMARY: We are seeking a qualified Mechanic to join our ranch in Somerville, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of repairs on all equipment including tractors, off road vehicles, general farm equipment, vehicle brakes, clutches, front-end components, engine repairs, and electrical systems. The role requires proactive problem-solving to minimize equipment downtime and ensure efficient repairs. Additionally, maintaining the security of company tools, parts, and property is essential, along with accurate record-keeping and communication.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance on all equipment including lubrication and oil changes.
  • Conduct the repair of minor mechanical problems such as belt slippage, flat tires, tracing electrical failures/shorts, rebuild n hydraulic pumps, replacement of water pumps, thermostats, and other parts, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair moderately complex mechanical problems such as, tear-down and rebuilding of engines, replacement of electrical systems, replacement of hydraulic systems, and the diagnosis/repair of computer-aided mechanical operations.
  • Identify potential problems (mechanical or field conditions) and react appropriately.
  • Complete projects as needed under challenging conditions or off-hours to ensure continuous operation of production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records and parts usage documentation.
  • Organize and maintain shop cleanliness and manage supply ordering and restocking.
  • Participate actively in team efforts to achieve company goals.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety guidelines and report any deviations to the Ranch Manager.
  • Other responsibilities as outlined by the Ranch Operations Manager or Corporate.
  • Welding experience a plus
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma / GED equivalent preferred

Minimum of 3 years of professional mechanic experience.

ASE Certification is preferred

Must have a valid TX drivers license with no restrictions.


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, manuals, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to keep reports and maintenance records.

Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a mechanical/workshop environment and accomplish tasks and duties as outlined above.
