Ranch Hand

SUMMARY: We are looking for a seasoned hand to join our exotic hunting ranch in Somerville, TX. A qualified candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a diverse skill set, comfortable with all aspects of ranch life, and familiarity with hunting. This role requires a proactive approach to solving problems and a willingness to tackle various tasks as they arise. Housing can be provided for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine ranching duties including but not limited to road maintenance, fence repair, animal care, etc.
• Assist in the maintenance/repair of grounds, equipment and machinery.
• Operate heavy machinery and farm equipment such as tractors, front loaders, and brush cutters.
• Organize and clean storage spaces and maintenance bays.
• Clean guest experience equipment.
• Monitor and assist with stocking water and feeding stations.
• Assist with the health and welfare of all game on the ranch.
• Clean stalls, paddocks, box stalls & tack rooms.
• Assist with skinning and quartering game.
• Identify potential problems (mechanical or field conditions) and react appropriately.
• Participating in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals.
• Works within the company Health & Safety guidelines and reports to the Ranch manager any exceptions
• Other responsibilities as outlined by the Ranch Operations Manager or Corporate.
• Skills like welding, carpentry, plumbing or mechanical repair is a plus.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma / GED equivalent
• 3+ years of ranch hand, farm hand, or related experience
• Trail riding or hunting guide experience a plus.
• Knowledge of carpentry and or metal working/welding a plus.
• Must have a valid TX Drivers License with no restrictions.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires excellent personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in the wilderness or back country environment and accomplish tasks and duties as outlined above.
