Job Description

The Policy Analyst role will work within our Government Relations Team and is responsible for researching and analyzing policies at the federal, state and community levels. At Olsson the Government Relations Team is a strategic thought partner to our firm’s leadership and our clients alike. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the policy-making process, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities include:

  • Track state and federal legislative policies across the firm.
  • Provide key policy research for internal requests in coordination with members of the Government Affairs team.
  • Mange and facilitate the lobbying disclosure process for the firm.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to stakeholders on how proposed policies at local, state, and federal level may affect firm pursuits and focuses.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly meetings with internal leaders.
  • Connect and meet with key policy makers within the Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding area.
  • Engage our firm’s leaders in on demand trainings and conduct necessary follow-up meetings.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln or Omaha, NE offices or working in a hybrid environment aligned with one of these two locations.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, public policy, political science, engineering, or a related field.
  • ­­­Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in government relations, government affairs, public affairs, policy, economic development, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail.
