Accounting Specialist II

As an Accounting Specialist II you will perform a variety of functions related to overseeing insurance billing accounts for our main office in Costa Mesa, CA.

What You’ll Do

  • Daily you will carry out and provide instructions for processing billing adjustments and other instructions related to insurance policies.
  • You will handle escalated inquiries related to billing transactions, research and resolve unallocated monies, credit balances and misapplied payments.
  • You’ll produce letters for members.
  • You’ll create itemized statements.
  • Demonstrate aptitude to quickly integrate system knowledge and functionality.
  • You will communicate with internal customers, outside vendors, and management on differences.
  • You will also do some filing and data entry.

What You’ll Need

  • To thrive in this position, you understand accounting and receivables principles and complexities as related to multiple states or markets.
  • You have the ability to analyze complex billing transactions.
  • You have a working knowledge of interfacing departments such as Cashiering, Payables, and Underwriting.
  • You have the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Your able to effectively escalate issues to management.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have knowledge of internal systems such as HUON, Guidewire, EFT, PEPSC, Unity Client, and MRM Portal would be desired but not required.
  • You have general typing, Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet/Intranet access skills.
  • Availability 8:30-5:30pm.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$20.06 - $26.75

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
