Duties * Perform a variety of procedural clerical and technical duties associated with services necessary for personnel screening to include fingerprinting, data input, and hard-copy/mail or electronic transfer of fingerprints to appropriate agencies. * Use electronic systems and ink processes to retrieve, print or forward fingerprints and submits investigation requests in accordance with guidelines and screening processes. * Examine nformation in records, documents, and database systems to insure completeness, eligibility, and conformity with applicable regulations and guidance. * Use internet-based systems to submit investigation requests and fingerprint scans. * Provide advice, and guidance and independently performs a wide range of recurring transactions to ensure that records and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and that all regulatory requirements related to the specific actions are met. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * his position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. * Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document . Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes in one or more of the following: preparing a variety of personnel actions that include forms and documentation associated with the maintenance of records, entitlements, pay, and other associated actions, support one or more personnel programs, operations, or functions in the management and execution of personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.
