JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and experienced Epic Bridges and Mirth Interface Development Manager to lead our interface development team and actively participate in hands-on interface development and optimization to assist our client as they convert to Epic over the next year. As the Epic Bridges and Mirth Interface Development Manager, you will be a key player in our healthcare technology ecosystem. You will lead a team of interface developers while actively contributing to the hands-on development, maintenance, and optimization of interfaces between our Epic EHR system and various external systems using Mirth Connect. Your role will involve project management, technical leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless flow of critical healthcare data.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Epic Bridges and Mirth interface developers.
- Set clear objectives, provide feedback, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
- Manage workload allocation and prioritize projects to meet organizational goals.
Hands-On Interface Development:
- Actively participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of interfaces using Epic Bridges and Mirth Connect.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues promptly.
- Ensure the interfaces adhere to industry standards and best practices.
Project Management:
- Lead interface development projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring projects stay on track.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with Epic analysts, IT teams, and stakeholders to gather interface requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
Quality Assurance and Optimization:
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of interfaces.
- Continuously optimize existing interfaces for efficiency and scalability.
Documentation and Training:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all interfaces, configurations, and development processes.
- Provide training and support to team members and end-users as needed.
Qualifications:
- Epic Bridges certification is required
- Must live in Washington State or be willing to relocate
- Mirth interface development experience is preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Epic Bridges and/or Mirth Connect interface development.
- Proven experience in managing and leading interface development teams while communicating progress and issues to project stakeholders
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT, HL7, and interface standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Willingness to be onsite when Epic is onsite, likely around one week a month, travel expenses are reimbursed
