Bridge Task Leader/Engineer Position

David Evans & Associates Inc is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Task Leader/Engineer to join our team in Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia, or Tacoma, Washington offices. As a key member of our Transportation Business Unit, you will lead and perform technical bridge engineering, and project management on bridge projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing bridge design deliverables, managing projects, and providing bridge design leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead bridge design deliverables, including concept reports, TS&L Reports, design calculations, construction plans, specifications, estimates, and construction schedules.
  • Manage projects to ensure excellence in project execution, on-time, on-budget deliverables of quality that meet or exceed the industry's standard of care.
  • Check engineering calculations, drawings, estimates, specifications, and construction schedule deliverables for accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Provide bridge design leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Manage, perform, and deliver condition inspection and reporting of in-service bridges.
  • Manage, develop, and check load rating calculations and reports.
  • Participate in client and project development teams.
  • Assist pursuit champions and project managers in the development of proposal documents.
  • Communicate with clients and express their needs to project teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of bridge engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Washington.
  • Proficiency in structural design software applications, with an emphasis on bridge design software, such as SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan, LPile, BRASS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Physically able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Knowledgeable of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards.
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Washington.
  • Knowledgeable of WSDOT and Sound Transit bridge design standards.
