AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Bridge Design Engineer V to join our team in Seattle, WA. office.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Senior Bridge Design Engineer V to provide technical expertise and leadership in bridge design projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in bridge design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
- Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepare technical specification sections.
- Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Requirements
- BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Masters of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
- WA State PE.
- Successful passing of the SE exam.
- 8+ years of bridge design and plan development experience.
- Project experience in Washington State related to state and/or local bridge design project work with seismic and inelastic analysis and design.
- SE license in state of Washington State or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
- Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, PTC MathCAD, CSiBridge and/or MIDAS Civil.
- Experience leading a staff of engineers and CAD personnel.
- Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
- Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes.
- Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel.
