The Human Resources Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the Church's mission and talent strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff within the department.
- Manages the daily operations and workflow of the department.
- Conducts constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Administers disciplinary actions and terminates employees in accordance with Church policies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand organizational goals and strategies related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Leads the development, implementation, and oversight of policies, processes, training programs, and initiatives to support compliance and strategic human resources needs.
- Manages human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and implements best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Conducts research and analysis of trends, including the review of reports and metrics from Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or talent management systems.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews and updates policies to maintain compliance.
- Keeps up-to-date with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and talent management; communicates relevant changes to upper management.
- Develops and manages the departmental budget.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to execute decisions related to employment and human resources.
General Church Requirements:
- Attend weekly church staff meetings.
- Participate in monthly all-staff meetings.
- Align with and affirm the Church's Evangelical core values and mission.
- Regularly attend Church events and gatherings.
- Become a member of the Church within a 12 months of employment.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years of experience in human resource management.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
