Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff within the department.
  • Manages the daily operations and workflow of the department.
  • Conducts constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Administers disciplinary actions and terminates employees in accordance with Church policies.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand organizational goals and strategies related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and oversight of policies, processes, training programs, and initiatives to support compliance and strategic human resources needs.
  • Manages human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and implements best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Conducts research and analysis of trends, including the review of reports and metrics from Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or talent management systems.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews and updates policies to maintain compliance.
  • Keeps up-to-date with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and talent management; communicates relevant changes to upper management.
  • Develops and manages the departmental budget.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to execute decisions related to employment and human resources.


General Church Requirements:


  • Attend weekly church staff meetings.
  • Participate in monthly all-staff meetings.
  • Align with and affirm the Church's Evangelical core values and mission.
  • Regularly attend Church events and gatherings.
  • Become a member of the Church within a 12 months of employment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.


Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
