Data Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Power BI Service/Report Server, Power Query, DAX and T-SQL
  • At least 8 years practical experience in Power BI development and implementation (meaning 8 years using everyday in their work)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data patterns, trends and insights
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams at all levels
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Practical experience in end-to-end technical project management, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing and deployment
  • Preferred: Power BI certifications (Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate)


Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to build and optimize data sets, ‘big data’ data pipelines and architectures
  • Ability to understand and build complex data models for Power BI reporting.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
  • Excellent analytic skills associated with working on unstructured datasets
  • Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata

  • 8 + years experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
