Our client in Woburn, Ma a biotech company seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join the finance team and play a pivotal role in managing the accounting functions with a focus on both local and international standards.

Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will oversee monthly closing procedures, manage financial reporting, ensure compliance with GAAP, and support various accounting and tax functions. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, who is adept at managing audits, improving processes, and advising on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Closing Procedures: Lead and facilitate the monthly closing processes including payroll, cash management, and intercompany transactions.
  • Financial Statements Preparation: Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and ensure reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP standards.
  • Tax Filings & Reports: Review, complete, and file monthly tax returns and statistical reports in a timely manner.
  • Audit Management: Oversee annual audit activities, review audit packages, prepare supporting financial statements, and ensure audits are conducted without adjustments or overruns.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage and file annual Corporate Income Tax (CIT) returns, Related Party Transactions (RPT) reports, and annual statistics and transfer pricing reports.
  • Business Support: Provide accounting and tax advice to support new business initiatives and process improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing internal accounting and tax compliance processes. Develop and implement efficient end-to-end accounting controls and policies.
  • Process Recommendations: Offer recommendations on analyzing financial information in line with established standards and policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years in accounting/finance with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP and accounting regulations. Familiarity with Chinese accounting standards is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online and at least one major accounting ERP system (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite).
  • Languages: Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
