The Senior Program Manager leads and manages the development and implementation of a body of similar projects at the enterprise level. In addition, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for the end-to-end charge of the program, from shaping the approach to achieving the desired outcomes through delivery and post-delivery value realization.

Senior Program Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervising Project Managers
  • Coordinating projects and resource management within the program
  • Stakeholder and sponsor communications
  • Program financial management
  • Reporting
  • Evaluates new initiatives and identifies system requirements
  • Prepares communications and makes presentations
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • May lead portfolios, programs, projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives


Senior Program Manager Requirements:

  • Experience in portfolio management and high-level projects
  • Strong healthcare background with experience in implementations
  • In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own discipline and advanced knowledge of related fields
  • Solves complex problems
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance
