Position Overview

Manhattan College, located only 10 miles from Midtown in The Bronx, is searching for its next Director of Transfer Recruitment.


The Director of Transfer Recruitment will be tasked with designing and implementing strategic initiatives consistent with Manhattan College’s overall enrollment objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, s/he will manage the transfer application process, facilitate on- and off-campus transfer events, maintain relationships with community colleges, and work with appropriate members of the deans’ offices to ensure efficient evaluation of transfer credit. The Director of Transfer Recruitment will consistently collaborate with other directors within the College’s Enrollment Management Division to supervise and train professional support staff in all matters relating to transfer admissions goals.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and help redefine transfer credit evaluation process.
  • Create, recommend, and adjust admission policies and practices to optimize transfer student recruitment and enrollment efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with transfer advisors at community colleges and community-based organizations.
  • Complete work on-site at community colleges and community-based organizations a few days a week.
  • Work with the College’s Academic Advisors to refine and automate the transfer credit evaluation process.
  • Assist the Academic Affairs unit in the creation of new articulation agreements.
  • Develop and carry out a robust communication campaign for lead generation, publications, social media, and events.
  • Participate in the daily operations of the admissions office, application review, and in recruitment and yield events including, but not limited to, open houses and admitted student days.
  • Plan and execute recruitment events, including transfer student information sessions, college fairs, campus visits, and community transfer clinics.
  • Manage one direct report—the Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Leadership, or other related field, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Five to seven years of experience in Transfer Admission.
  • Familiarity with, and management of, articulation agreements- both current and future opportunities.
  • Appreciation for the Catholic mission of the institution.
  • Good driving record.
  • Knowledge of Banner and Slate preferred.
  • Self-motivated to perform tasks with minimal supervision.


Salary range: $95,000 to $135,000, based upon experience.
