**The role will be hybrid, close to the Fort Lauderdale / Miami, FL region – a relocation package is on offer. **


The business is backed by a publicly traded energy group that develops international projects (872 MW of solar and 1024MWh of connected battery storage, under construction and/or ready to be constructed).


The position will occupy a central role in the business' financial team, driving the economic evaluation, structuring, and financing of its solar project portfolio. The role will work closely with key decision-makers (Chief Development Officer, Executive Chairman) for the business and will report to the Chief Strategy Officer.


This highly strategic position is designed for a finance professional with a robust background in solar / BESS energy project finance and a proven track record of leading financial analysis teams. The role involves detailed financial modeling, investment analysis, and leading a team of analysts to ensure the financial viability and success of solar projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for evaluating solar energy projects, including projections, risk assessment, and return analysis.
  • Drive the finance process from internal approval through closing of transactions.
  • Lead the financial analysis team, providing direction, mentorship, and development opportunities to junior analysts. Ensure high-quality financial analysis and reporting across the team.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential solar energy investments, including financial, technical, and regulatory considerations.
  • Negotiate and secure financing from banks, investors, and other financial institutions, leveraging a deep understanding of project finance structures, tax equity investments, and debt instruments.
  • Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to align financial models with project specifications and company goals.
  • Present financial analyses and investment recommendations to senior management, providing strategic insights to inform decision-making.
  • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and financing innovations within the solar and renewable energy sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the renewable energy finance community.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in finance, with significant expertise in solar energy project finance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of financial analysts.
  • Expert proficiency in financial modeling and analysis related to renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar power.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of securing project financing.
  • Solid understanding of the renewable energy market, including regulatory environments, tax incentives, and technology trends.
