Position Overview:
The Senior Project Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the financial integrity of assigned projects. This position involves maintaining precise and comprehensive records related to all financial aspects of the projects, including a thorough review of incurred costs and supporting detailed information.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor project progress from initiation to completion.
2. Identify, anticipate, and collaborate with the project team to resolve any project-related issues.
3. Assist in formulating project budgets to align with overarching financial objectives.
4. Analyze cost variances and discrepancies, offering insights and recommendations to project managers.
5. Communicate any concerns or issues to project management and accounting management.
6. Review subcontractor work orders and pay applications for compliance.
7. Track and monitor project costs, including direct and indirect expenses, labor, and materials.
8. Process client pay applications and invoices.
9. Conduct project close-out financial and administrative functions.
10. Prepare detailed project analyses for operations and finance management as needed.
11. Provide comprehensive financial analysis and commentary on project costs as requested by management.
12. Maintain proactive communication across all levels of the organization.
13. Perform cost reconciliations of projects against adjuster's reports.
14. Support internal and external audits by supplying necessary documentation, explanations, and reconciliations related to project costs.
15. Assist in the preparation of Work in Progress Schedules.
16. Collaborate with team members to enhance quality control.
17. Undertake additional duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, or related fields, preferably within the construction or comparable industry.

Skills:
- Proficient in generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with accountants, clients, and upper management.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapid changes.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with all other Microsoft products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
