Position Overview:

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team.

In this position, you will engage in a range of professional financial tasks related to the annual operational budget, variance analysis, internal month-end accounting, and various ad-hoc financial requests. This role will also support activities related to mergers and acquisitions, as well as financial forecasting and projections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating internal and external financial reporting packages using Power BI;
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting and long-term projection models;
  • Conduct scenario analyses to evaluate macro and micro risk factors, perform benchmarking exercises, and execute various complex ad-hoc analyses;
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting standards, and the general ledger structure to meet company reporting requirements;
  • Monitor divisional headcount changes and analyze their financial implications;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights into financial performance;
  • Support the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis with special projects, reporting enhancements, and workflow improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required);
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (or in progress) is preferred;

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and auditing is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and training;
  • Experience in public accounting, private equity, or large private firms is required;
  • Proficiency in developing reports and dashboards using Power BI is essential;
  • Strong working knowledge of mid-tier or higher accounting software and Microsoft Office is required;
  • Demonstrated ability to build complex forecasting models is preferred;
  • Familiarity with private debt facilities, reporting requirements, and covenants is preferred;
  • Experience with system implementation is preferred;
  • Ability to comprehend complex instructions, regulations, and correspondence is preferred;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
