POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Manufacturing Production/Project Engineer role is a full time first shift position. The requirements of the position are to first and foremost support production from an engineering perspective. This role will have a broad scope in that it will be involved in all areas of production and facilities as support. This support will come in the form of engineering, documentation, communication, training, research, proposals, and project implementation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and establish efficient and safe methods for workstation set-ups on all company products.
  • Provide process instructions and educate supervisors, leads, and workers as needed on efficient and safe methods to accomplish each task.
  • Perform engineering time studies to establish accurate labor standards on every bill of material.
  • Assist Quality Control in the establishment and implementation of quality standards.
  • Provide input on the design of products, and their processes to improve ease of manufacture.
  • Research the cost and feasibility of new manufacturing technologies and their adaptability to this facility.
  • Capital Acquisition Requests including ROI calculations for equipment and facilities as needed.
  • Researching, specifying, and or designing work aids such as fixtures, jigs, or automation.
  • Work with maintenance to identify all facilities issues or expansion needs and implement projects as approved.
  • Prepare memos, proposals, and justifications as needed to support projects and inform management.
  • Direct contact and interaction with outside vendors and suppliers in support of production, and facility projects.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in engineering/engineering technology OR 3-5 years’ work experience


COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Willingness to learn and adaptability to the demands of the position.
  • Must have good planning ability, a strong analytical sense, and sound engineering approaches.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Systematic problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Plastics injection molding experience preferred.
