Site Environment Specialist

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Develop and implement environmental policies and programs. Monitor and manage waste disposal, pollution control, and resource conservation. Liaise with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the community on environmental matters. Provide training and support to staff on environmental best practices. Stay current with new regulations and industry trends related to environmental protection.

Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare detailed reports. Identify external and internal regulatory requirements for the domain. Conduct gap analyses and propose action plans to ensure site compliance with regulations and internal standards. Ensure the site has comprehensive risk analyses and defined action plans for the domain. Define and communicate the site's environmental position to project teams during design projects, technical equipment transformations, or building changes, using the "Planification / Avis EP." Analyze and address current operational anomalies related to CO2, VOC, waste, water, and pollution. Issue necessary alerts. Share best practices across the site and nationwide. Participate in or lead business meetings within the network as the site Environment Specialist. Present the annual domain review during the SMEP Management Review of the site. Lead environmental initiatives at site events, including steering committees, environmental agreements, and training sessions. Identify and engage with external (governmental) and internal partners, serving as the site’s primary contact in these networks. Provide technical support during audits (SMEP or other inspections) and manage crises impacting the domain. Execute specific projects in the domain through cross-functional management (e.g., T-shaped management, multi-factory studies). Participate in or conduct audits at other sites when possible. Coordinate domain activities at the country level, guided by the relevant time zone authority, when feasible.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience Minimum 3 years of experience in either environmental or safety compliance within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA) Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) preferred Understanding of waste management, air quality, water treatment, and soil remediation processes. Ability to conduct environmental audits and risk assessments
