Deputy Digital Director

Our client, a lobbying and educational organization which focuses on environmental issues, is looking for a Deputy Digital Director to join their dynamic, fun, and high-performing team. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Deputy Digital Director the strategy and execution of the organization's digital marketing plans across a range of channels - including paid search, paid social, SEO and more. An ability to develop strategy and media plans is important for the role, as well being comfortable being hands-on keyboard executing campaigns.


This organization operates on a 4-day work week, Monday-Thursday. They are hybrid (2 days in-office) and can be based out of either Oakland, Sacramento, or Los Angeles.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital goals and strategies to drive organizational growth.
  • Lead digital advertising campaigns, focusing on brand awareness, website traffic, and social media engagement.
  • Mentor and manage the digital team, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Oversee the digital ecosystem, including SEO, SEM, SMO, PPC, email marketing, paid ads, and online fundraising.
  • Analyze digital analytics and generate marketing reports.
  • Stay updated on consumer and marketing trends, especially those relevant to climate crisis solutions.
  • Manage digital projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-departmental teams to align digital strategies.
  • Evaluate and update digital policies and strategies based on industry trends.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields and 8+ years of experience in digital media.
  • Proficiency with tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, WordPress, and EveryAction.
  • Expertise in major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing budgets and executing marketing strategies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor and grow a digital team.
  • Sense of humor and humility.


Base: $95k-110k DOE + benefits
