Our client, a nonprofit organization, is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support their team.


Job Details:

Candidate profile and qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Benefits
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Workday and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Soft Skills: Attentive to Detail, High Degree of Confidentiality, and Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment
  • Education: Bachelor’s Preferred (Relevant experience can compensate)
  • Proof of vaccination against Covid-19: Required


Job Duties & Responsibilities:


Benefits Administration and Communication (35%)

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Monitor and respond to benefit email tickets within one business day.
  • Conduct benefits overview during new hire orientation.
  • Coordinate benefits-related tasks during employee departures.


Benefits Data Management and System Administration (20%)

  • Ensure benefit enrollments, separations, and coverage changes are completed on time.
  • Run audits and data analysis related to benefit processes.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit premium invoices.


Leave Administration (20%)

  • Consult with employees on leave requests.
  • Maintain leave charts, posters, and tracker.
  • Prepare leave paperwork and monitor return to work or leave extensions.


Project Coordination (15%)

  • Support benefits enhancement projects and wellness events.
  • Coordinate project meetings and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist with data analysis and presentations.


General Human Resources (10%)

  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Recommend improvements in efficiency and service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of benefits administration experience, preferably in a large organization.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Section 125, FMLA, ADA, ACA, ERISA, and COBRA laws.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Workday preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
