Position: Director of Crisis Management and Emergency Response
Location: Arlington, Virginia 100% Onsite
Role Overview:
The Director of Crisis Management and Emergency Response will provide leadership and strategic direction for crisis management within the company. This role is a key member of the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) team, offering guidance and support across all levels of the organization to ensure preparedness and training for any emergency. The position will involve frequent visits to various site and office locations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee Emergency Response Plans and associated work streams for the company's LNG terminals and pipelines, supporting permitting, construction, and operations.
  • Lead the company's hurricane readiness and response plans for all sites.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on all Emergency Response Plan (ERP) matters.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Facility Security Plans in collaboration with relevant staff and external partners.
  • Support waterway permitting and renewal efforts, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and preparedness.
  • Collaborate with the security team on response-related responsibilities, including the Facility Security Plan and other Port/Coastguard deliverables.
  • Develop and implement a Crisis Management Process that integrates the Incident Command System (ICS) and ensures the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Incident Management Team (IMT), and Crisis Management Team (CMT) are trained and competent.
  • Manage the company's fire response contracts and personnel at each site.


Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in emergency response planning, including Incident Command System structure and operations.
  • Ability to coordinate with senior local and state emergency response personnel to develop practical and effective emergency response strategies.
  • Experience developing cost-sharing agreements with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local agency requirements, and the ability to align these with company philosophies and commitments.
  • Proven experience managing external contracts and resources necessary to support emergency response efforts, particularly during severe weather events.
  • Experience in budgeting and managing a large, multidisciplinary workforce.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to select, manage, and coordinate internal and external resources to achieve goals within budget and schedule targets.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in disaster/emergency response at a senior management level, with oil & gas/LNG experience preferred but not required.
  • Broad knowledge of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental issues as they relate to emergency response, particularly in oil and gas operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration across various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to challenge the organization constructively while maintaining trust and respect.
  • Experience with IT-based emergency response systems, such as Storm Geo or Alert Media.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant technical tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly and concisely.
