Role Description

This is a volunteer role to join the board of Seattle City Flag as the Director of Community Outreach. The Director of Community Outreach will be responsible for community engagement, communication, crafting press releases, and coordinating community outreach initiatives.


This position will also join our Committee of Non-Profit Development and collaborate with Seattle City Flag's Non-Profit Development Director to develop then execute strategic initiatives. For this role, we are seeking the candidate to lead and manage a corps of volunteers; team management and grassroots organizing skills/experience is recommended for candidates.


This role is a hybrid position, based in Seattle, WA, with flexibility for remote work.

Tangible examples of past outreach initiatives include:


  • Seattle Coffee Shop Exhibition funded by the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture
  • Tabling / Vending at On The Block, a Capitol Hill Culture market


Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Seattle and its communities
  • Passion for civic art and community building
  • Strong skills in community engagement and community outreach
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in crafting press releases
  • Knowledge of grassroots organizing and volunteer management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
