Motion recruitment has partnered with a premier client in Schaumburg, IL and seeking a IT business analyst / Product owner for a contract to Hire. This position is 3 days/ week onsite.


We are looking for a BA/PO with good SQL skills and have experience building custom applications In an Agile environment.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Act as subject matter expert for assigned area, performing the role of product owner on an agile team.
  • Lead the creation of functional and nonfunctional requirements in collaboration with product management and engineering teams.
  • Prioritize and refine backlog and work with engineering to design and build the product.
  • Create drafts of features and user stories with acceptance criteria to seed product backlog to begin the grooming process.
  • Represent the voice of the customer by developing deep expertise and empathy for the customers and consumers of our services and software products.
  • Transform the business requirements into actionable features, stories, and prototypes or images that follow a product growth plan.
  • Communicate in an effective, timely and efficient manner with business owners and the agile delivery team, ensuring the successful delivery of software during each iteration.
  • Develop rapport and trust with business owners, key stakeholders, and a highly technical development team.
  • Demonstrate work at the end of each iteration to key stakeholders and assist in authoring supporting technical documentation for delivered features.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of product or project development experience.
  • Multiple years of experience in a Product Owner and/or business analyst role (or similar) in an agile software development environment including a strong working knowledge of the methodology, user stories, and iterative development.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts throughout the entire life cycle of a product.
  • Passion for education and experience working in an educational environment.
  • Agile Certification Preferred (ex: CSPO)


SKILLS


  • Create, validate, and optimize documentation for user stories, including ongoing grooming, solution workshopping, prototyping, and results reporting.
  • Contribute process-level expertise, data analysis, documentation, and support throughout the continuous improvement lifecycle.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver communications/presentations/documentation related to testing, project status, end-user training, and project results, among others.
  • Use superior analysis and troubleshooting abilities to efficiently delve into identified issues, coordinating technical resources where applicable, establishing root cause, developing theories for contributing factors, and beginning to elucidate potential solutions.
  • Assist with both high- and low-tech solutioning for user stories, utilizing process mapping and data analysis to drive evidence-based, cost/benefit optimized solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills including the prioritization of tasks and controlling scope.
  • Ability to reconcile key stakeholder interests, conflicting priorities, and business strategy and influence without formal management authority.
