We are in search of a Business Analyst/Product Owner who possesses strong SQL capabilities and has experience in developing custom applications within an Agile framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the designated area, fulfilling the role of Product Owner on an Agile team.
  • Facilitate the development of both functional and non-functional requirements in partnership with product management and engineering teams.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, collaborating with engineering to design and construct the product.
  • Draft features and user stories with acceptance criteria to initiate the grooming process for the product backlog.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by cultivating a deep understanding and empathy for the users of our services and software products.
  • Convert business requirements into actionable features, stories, and prototypes that align with the product growth strategy.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with business stakeholders and the Agile delivery team to ensure successful software delivery during each iteration.
  • Build rapport and trust with business stakeholders, key players, and a highly skilled development team.
  • Demonstrate completed work at the end of each iteration to key stakeholders and assist in creating supporting technical documentation for delivered features.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in product or project development.
  • Several years of experience in a Product Owner and/or Business Analyst role (or similar) within an Agile software development environment, including a solid understanding of the methodology, user stories, and iterative development.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts throughout the product lifecycle.
  • A passion for education and experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Agile Certification is a plus (e.g., CSPO).

SKILLS

  • Develop, validate, and enhance documentation for user stories, including ongoing grooming, solution workshops, prototyping, and results reporting.
  • Provide process-level expertise, data analysis, documentation, and support throughout the continuous improvement lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and deliver communications, presentations, and documentation related to testing, project status, end-user training, and project outcomes.
  • Utilize superior analytical and troubleshooting skills to investigate identified issues, coordinating technical resources as needed, establishing root causes, and proposing potential solutions.
  • Assist with both high-tech and low-tech solutions for user stories, employing process mapping and data analysis to drive evidence-based, cost-effective solutions.
  • Exhibit excellent time management skills, including task prioritization and scope control.
  • Ability to reconcile key stakeholder interests, conflicting priorities, and business strategies while influencing without formal management authority.
