Zurich North America is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team in a hybrid work environment. This role will report to the VP of Analytics Engineering within the Chief Data Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates and leads discussions with stakeholders to extract comprehensive requirements through interviews, documentation, and collaborative sessions for approved initiatives and enhancements. Oversees business decisions and manages the documentation and communication of requirements.
- Conducts requirement analysis to assess system capabilities and identifies impacts on other business units and systems, providing valuable input to the development process.
- Develops process models based on business needs to ensure completeness of information and process components.
- Delivers cost/benefit analyses, risk assessments, and scope definitions for proposed requirements to stakeholders.
- Assists users in constructing business cases; performs impact assessments; and supports application testing, implementation, and training throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manages individual or sub-project tasks that affect multiple business and IT departments.
- Evaluates project impacts through consultations with business, regulatory, IT management, development, quality assurance, validation, and training teams.
- Supports system configuration and integration testing to ensure functionality, performance, and alignment with original requirements.
- Oversees work plans, timelines, and budgets, assessing feedback and Return on Investment to prioritize projects effectively. Collaborates with stakeholders to identify necessary departmental resources to achieve defined objectives.
- Engages in business process modeling and re-engineering based on business requirements to ensure completeness of information and process components.
- Utilizes Unified Modeling Language tools to create Use Cases, Class, and Sequence Diagrams based on product design documentation.
- Mentors team members in technology, architecture, and application delivery.
- Develops detailed business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Collaborates with IT and business teams to ensure technical solutions align with business needs.
- Provides ongoing support and training to end-users and stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering with 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Information Technology, and
- Experience in process reengineering; familiarity with LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficient in process modeling tools.
- Experience in insurance application system design and analysis.
- Experience in use case development.
- Familiarity with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel and SQL.
- Experience in Agile development environments.
- Strong background in consulting with business and technical teams.
- Experience in analytical roles on complex enterprise projects.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services sector.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar capacity.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or similar).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
