Business Development Manager - Full Truckload (FTL) Service


Job Overview


Are you a seasoned sales professional with expertise in Full Truckload (FTL) logistics? We are looking for a Business Development Manager who can drive the growth of our FTL services by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and developing tailored logistics solutions. If you have a deep understanding of the FTL market and a proven track record in logistics sales, we want you to join our team and play a key role in expanding our market presence.


Key Responsibilities


Market Expansion and Strategy


  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan focused on growing our FTL services in key markets.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities by researching market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes in the FTL sector.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential clients, focusing on industries with high demand for FTL services.


Sales and Revenue Growth


  • Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and revenue growth.
  • Develop and present customized FTL logistics solutions that meet the specific needs of clients, ensuring long-term business relationships.
  • Negotiate and secure contracts with clients, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives.


Client Relationship Management


  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as their primary point of contact for FTL services.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing their logistics needs and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Conduct regular reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional services.


Collaboration and Coordination


  • Work closely with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless delivery of FTL services.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and materials that effectively communicate the benefits of our FTL services.
  • Provide feedback to the operations team to optimize service offerings and improve customer satisfaction.


Reporting and Analysis


  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales performance, client acquisition, and market penetration.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, forecast future sales, and make informed decisions to drive business growth.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities, market conditions, and potential risks.


Qualifications and Experience


Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.


Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the FTL logistics industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in the FTL sector.
  • Experience in negotiating and securing large-scale logistics contracts.
  • Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of FTL logistics, transportation management, and supply chain operations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
