Our client is a is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of life-threatening conditions and diseases.


POSITION:

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, The HR Manager is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HR Manager maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. This position will also support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, employee life cycle, handling employee inquiries, enforcing company policies and practices, and supporting various HR programs with an interpersonal style that helps maintain positive employee relations and fosters a positive work environment. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ​

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to leaders within the pharmaceutical sector, providing guidance and support on all HR related matters
  • Proactively identify and address any potential HR issues or challenges within the sector, and work to find effective solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive approach to talent management, employee development, and performance management
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner, in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Lead and/or participate in HR Operations projects such as vendor selection and implementation, annual compensation and performance review cycles, and policy development
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements to HR systems, processes, policies, and programs to improve the candidate and employee experience and ensure compliance.
  • Partners and liaises with Talent Acquisition function to ensure workforce planning, recruiting and hiring strategies are met. Including a smooth onboarding process for new employees
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to improve employee engagement and retention
  • Partner with the HR team to implement and communicate company-wide initiatives and programs
  • Helps to answer employee and manager questions related to leave of absence, FMLA, short-term disability, and personal leave of absence.
  • Assist with 401k, Benefits, Compensation, and Equity program administration
  • Partner with the HR team to implement and communicate company-wide initiatives and programs
  • Serve as a role model for the company's culture and values, and promote a positive employer brand
  • Other HR and business projects as assigned.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Assist when needed in the full hiring process of employees, including recruitment, interviews, initiating background checks, and conducting references, and applicant tracking
  • Support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, employee life cycle, handling employee inquiries, enforcing company policies and practices
  • Provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.


SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated understanding of business strategy which is applied to make sound decisions
  • Ability to build deep and influential business partnerships throughout the organization by demonstrating an understanding of business fundamentals and decision-making processes
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior level managers and executives
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding Employment Law
  • HRIS experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • At least 3 years of experience in HR operations, project management, administration, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years directly related progressive HR experience required
  • Experience managing a Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
  • Life Sciences industry experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
