This position would be responsible for interpreting contracts, negotiate changes in the work, hire and manage professional consultants, oversee development of plans and specifications, create budgets, manage expenses, direct the work of project support staff, serve as liaison with all campus departments, and obtain project approvals and permits. In addition to directly managing projects, this position serves as a technical expert providing advice and guidance to management, and oversees, manages and supervises work of lower level project management positions.


The position will direct department wide initiatives that include formulating strategies for DCS effectiveness and success, and for administering policies, processes, and resources for regulatory compliance and client satisfaction. The position resolves issues requiring specialized knowledge and is widely recognized and consulted by department staff for their expert knowledge in the design, engineering and construction process. Serves as an advisor and provides technical guidance for Project Managers at the Facilities Project Management Specialist 4 level position, as well as oversee project managers.


Must Have Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience working within Public Construction/Projects
  • Strong experience with a variety of Project Management Tools
  • Experience managing budgets, project scope, and estimates
  • Hold's a Bachelor's Degree


Plusses:

  • Experience working within Construction Project Manager for a UC or Higher Education University


Compensation:

$72-78/hour

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
