1. Function

The Design Project Manager (DMP) is responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of residential design projects. The DPM is responsible for all communication with the client during pre-construction and must set realistic expectations while still meeting or exceeding the goals and needs of each project. The DPM must perform, coordinate, and delegate tasks to facilitate an efficient workflow. The DPM will continue to oversee execution of the design throughout construction to ensure client satisfaction and complete each project on time, on budget, and of the highest standard of quality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as primary contact with clients throughout pre-construction phase
• Meet with potential clients to review project needs, budget, and schedule expectations
• Lead presentations of architectural designs and revisions
• Manage schedule and preliminary budget expectations
• Keep client informed of project status and projections on a routine basis

2. Qualifications

• Professional Degree in an Accredited Institution
• Recommended Experience: at least 5 years in a design office
• AXP Enrollment and pursuit of NCIDQ, ARE, LEED, etc
• Exemplary technology and visualization skills
• Design talent and organizational ability
• Working knowledge of all aspects of construction

The DPM occupies a crucial role within the team dynamic with access to decision-making by the Principal Architect and an upward trajectory to be involved in the fabric of the organization. He or she must be able to enact top-down measures and provide mentorship for younger colleagues to help build their skills and confidence. As an enabler and important piece within the flow of projects and information, DPM’s must serve as a role model for professionalism and ethics as part of their mentoring.

• This position requires on-site presence for the initial 90 days of employment. After completing the 90-day probationary period, remote work opportunities may be considered based on availability and company policy. Such arrangements will be subject to discussion between the employee and their supervisor, taking into account job responsibilities, performance, and business needs.

• Programming and conceptual design support
• Exceptional BIM, modeling, and visualization skills.

• Learning regulatory and legal issues having impact on project design, documentation, and execution.

• Finish board and Image/Concept board research, selection, and production
• Hand rendering and coloring of design ideas, elevations, etc

Work performed in a combination of an office and rare field environment.
