Job Description:

As the Lead Hardware Engineer for Medical Devices, you will spearhead the hardware design and development efforts of our revolutionary medical devices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, biomedical experts, and regulatory specialists to ensure the successful delivery of our products. This role demands deep expertise in hardware engineering for medical devices, along with strong leadership skills to guide and inspire a team of hardware engineers.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hardware architecture and design activities for medical devices, translating product requirements into robust hardware solutions.
  • Define technical specifications and drive the selection of components and materials for optimal performance and manufacturability.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and prototyping to validate hardware designs and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage the entire hardware development lifecycle, from concept and design verification to validation testing and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate hardware components seamlessly with software systems.
  • Oversee the transition of prototypes to production, working closely with external partners and contract manufacturers to ensure quality and scalability.
  • Mentor and lead a team of hardware engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to medical device hardware development.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with a strong emphasis on medical device development.
  • Proven track record of leading hardware design and development projects, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in mechanical design principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes relevant to medical devices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and requirements for medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO).
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360) and proficiency in designing for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
