  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ascertain welding and fabrication requirements.
  • Apply engineering principles to analyze and resolve welding-related challenges, enhancing processes and outcomes.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Conduct inspections of welded joints to confirm adherence to stringent quality standards and compliance with space industry regulations.
  • Work with materials commonly utilized in aerospace applications, such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and exotic alloys.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding and fabrication processes, efficiency, and quality.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a tidy, organized workspace.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; additional technical training or certification in welding is preferred. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of welding experience, particularly with aerospace or space industry components.
  • Expertise in TIG, MIG, and other welding techniques suitable for aerospace-grade materials.
  • Understanding and prior experience in mechanical engineering roles beyond welding.
  • Strong grasp of welding metallurgy and the properties of materials used in space hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to welding and space hardware.

Physical Requirements:
