Minimum Qualifications  

All applicants for teaching roles in our elementary school, high school, and middle school must have the following minimum qualifications: 

  1. A bachelor's degree from a accredited United States institution. For certain roles, other advanced degrees may be required. 
  2. Washington State teacher certification. If currently certified in another US state, please apply; our school will work to help obtain Washington state certification for those who are selected and currently hold teaching certification in another state (United States only). 
  3. The ability to complete a personal Statement of Faith. Sunrise Beach School is a Faith-based and is registered with United States government as a faith-based 501 C3 institution. As such, we ask that all applicants provide a description of their walk with God, should they move through the application process. 
  4. The ability to utilize and excel with modern software and hardware technology. Digital learning and communication is part of our world, from use in the classroom, classroom management, internal communication and professional education, and parent communication. Sunrise Beach is a science and technology forward school, and we strive to create a community that maintains our constant learning edge in technology and pursues an innovative track in our use of technology. Our hiring process is designed to select staff and faculty members who are comfortable with seeking out and utilizing the newest method of technology in the classroom.

Elementary Teacher, Grades 1-2 

Sunrise Beach School is seeking a dynamic and experienced elementary teacher to join our faculty at the Olympia campus. The ideal candidate will possess a Washington State Teaching Certificate with a K-8 endorsement, or a bachelor’s degree in another area. A minimum of two years of primary teaching experience is preferred, along with excellent communication skills and a growth mindset. This position requires a strong commitment to working within a faith-based community and a genuine passion for guiding young learners in their academic and spiritual growth. 

 

Elementary Teacher (Various Grades) 

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Teacher to inspire and educate students across various grade levels at our Olympia campus. The successful candidate will embody our school's values and demonstrate a deep commitment to fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. A bachelor’s degree and relevant teaching certifications are preferred, along with a track record of effective classroom instruction and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development. 

 

Part-time High School History Teacher 

We are excited to welcome a new part-time High School History Teacher to our team at the Olympia campus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong devotion to academic excellence and a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. This position involves collaborating with the administration to select and implement a high school history curriculum, ensuring a Christ-centered approach to teaching, and submitting student grades in a timely manner.

Per State of Washington requirements, information regarding salary at Sunrise Beach School is as follows: Sunrise Beach School is a private school and seeks to maintain highly competitive rates with local school districts, providing similar rates to similarly qualified individuals. For the roles currently listed, the pay range is $20 to $26 per hour, depending on qualifications.  Tips: Provide a summary of the role, what success in the position looks like, and how this role fits into the organization overall.
