DataStaff, Inc. is in need of a Business Technologist Program Manager for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA.


*This is a hybrid position


Responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day operational functions for the design program.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team that ensures efficient and effective technology initiatives are delivered to users.
  • Ensure programs and projects are conducted in alignment with the technology strategy.
  • Supervise staff in delivering one or more specific ITD functions within a single IT Portfolio. ITD functions include but are not limited to: Project Management, Customer Relationship Management, Data Management, BI & Reporting, Enterprise and Solution Architecture, Application Development, Maintenance and Throughput, Security, Governance and Compliance, Service Desk, Incident, Release, Transition and Change Management, Asset Management, IT Operations, Availability and Capacity Management.
  • Oversee Initiatives: Oversee Information Technology initiatives for assigned program. Assign resources to project teams to complete deliverables.
  • IT Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with policies, standards and guidelines governing IT computer systems.
  • Program Maintenance: Oversee work and staff in assigned program to ensure consistent process and quality standards are implemented.
  • Execute Program: Supervise staff supporting assigned ITD function(s).? Responsibilities include supervision of staff in execution of day-to-day processes tied to the specific ITD function.? Perform managerial and technical work ranging from simple to moderate difficulty.? Interact with peer supervisors and the IT Portfolio Managers to meet customer needs.
  • Manage Programs and Projects: Plan, oversee and implement delivery of technology projects or services. Oversee staff assignments and priorities. Develop training plans for team members. Develop and implement procedures, processes and best practices. Provide strategic planning for program areas and recommend new technologies.
  • Strategic Management: Work with peers and subordinates to define strategic direction for assigned technology program. Evaluate tools and prioritize work efforts with stakeholders from ITD and business units.
  • Business Process Improvement: Identify business processes that may be improved with technology solutions. Create processes and tools to facilitate increased efficiencies.
  • Reporting: Provide status reports on project plans, timelines, schedules and progress updates. Participate in strategic planning for programs, projects or systems.
  • Ensure Compliance: Provide compliance management and ensure that staff comply with required policies, processes and procedures.
  • Improve Processes: Responsible for tracking operational metrics on assigned ITD functions. Apply those metrics to identify and improve function specific processes.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Skill in technical troubleshooting to include applications, systems and network problems, etc.
  • Ability to develop, interpret and apply policies and procedures in an IT environment.
  • Technical knowledge and skills in technologies appropriate to assigned program.
  • Skill in researching best practices and applying them to organizational guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships and interact effectively with customers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of technology and methodology of computer and network systems and software.
  • Skill in people and resource management.


Required Skills:

  • 10 Years - Ability to supervise technical staff and programs, supervise and coordinate multiple projects and teams of a complex and technical nature.
  • 10 Years - Communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences and to make presentations and conduct meetings
  • 10 Years - Interact and communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers and develop and implement work plans.
  • 10 Years - Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in an IT environment, organizing and prioritizing activities.
  • 10 Years - Perform system analysis and design, Ability to collect and organize performance metric data to present to management.
  • 10 Years - IT Policy Compliance, Program Maintenance, Manage Programs and Projects, Business Process Improvement, Ensure Compliance
  • 10 Years - Managing IT functions including IT Governance and Compliance, Enterprise & Business Architecture, IT Service Mgmt, Asset Mgmt, Infrastructure and Ops
  • 10 Years - Application Development, PPM & Projects, or Data and BI Management, Knowledge and skill with technologies and functions appropriate to leading PRG
  • 10 Years - Skill in leading IT professionals in the planning, analyzing, designing, developing or implementing information technology programs, projects or systems for a large organization.


This opportunity is available on a corp-to-corp basis or as a W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
