Action Group Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for a manufacturing facility in Tulsa.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, with a focus on large-scale manufacturing or EPC projects in the renewable energy sector.
  • Proficient in control system design software such as PLC programming tools, SCADA systems, and DCS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to relocate to Tulsa and travel as needed.

Responsibilities:

The Instrument Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, and commissioning control systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The successful candidate will be a vital part of the team and contribute to the project's success through diligent project execution.


  • Develop detailed designs for instrumentation and control systems, including specifications, calculations, and drawings.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations of control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.
  • Monitor project progress, ensure timelines and budget constraints are met, and provide regular updates to the Project Engineering Lead.
  • Prepare technical specifications and evaluate bids for instrumentation and control equipment and materials.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure materials and equipment meet project specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing and approving installation procedures, inspecting installations, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Ensure control systems are installed in accordance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and oversee testing and commissioning plans for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Conduct and document tests to verify system performance and compliance with project specifications.
  • Implement quality control procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in audits and inspections as required.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, manuals, and documentation for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering designs, calculations, and project correspondence.
